This notice describes how Satoshi Fieldnotes (formerly Simply Onward) handles information at simplyonward.work. For questions or a request about your information, use our contact form. Please do not send sensitive documents.
Information you provide
If you contact us, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. We use them to review your inquiry and respond. A message does not sign you up for marketing. If you comment, your chosen public name and comment may be visible to other readers after moderation; your email address is not intentionally displayed in the comment.
Hosting and site services
The site uses WordPress.com hosting and Jetpack services, including site statistics and spam protection. These services may process technical data such as IP address, browser information, pages visited and interactions, and may use cookies. Their processing is described in Automattic’s visitor privacy notice and cookie policy. Service providers may process data in countries other than yours.
Use, sharing and retention
We use submitted information to operate the site, answer messages, correct content and manage abuse. We do not sell contact messages or use their email addresses for an unsolicited mailing list. Hosting, form and spam-protection providers process information as part of providing these functions. Information may also need to be retained or disclosed to meet applicable legal obligations.
We retain correspondence while it is needed to handle an inquiry and maintain a relevant record. Approved comments may remain with their article. Provider logs and backups follow the provider’s retention practices. You can request deletion of information you submitted; some records may need to be retained for security or legal reasons.
Your choices
You can read the blog without sending a message or commenting. Your browser lets you manage cookies, although blocking them may affect site functions. Use the contact page to ask about access, correction or deletion of information you supplied. We may need to confirm that a request comes from the person concerned.
Google advertising and your choices
We are setting up Google AdSense; our site is currently under review. Advertising revenue may help support this blog. If Google ads are served, Google and other advertising vendors may use cookies and similar identifiers to select and measure ads, including ads based on your earlier visits to this site or other websites. They may process your IP address, device and browser information, and ad interactions. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Where Google’s consent message is displayed, you can consent, decline consent, or manage individual options. The message identifies participating partners and links to their policies. You can reopen the available privacy and cookie settings to change or withdraw your choices. Advertising may use limited data when consent is not given; declining personalization does not necessarily remove all ads.
You can also manage personalized Google advertising through My Ad Center and opt out of participating third-party vendors through YourAdChoices. Browser cookie controls provide additional options. Choices can be specific to your browser or device. If a US-state privacy choices link is available, use it to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising. Contact us through the contact page with privacy requests.
